They are part of PKC Associates Ltd, insurance brokers specialising in travel insurance, and their policies are underwritten by Irish insurer White Horse Insurance. Their policy has eight different tiers of cover, with different sums assured in each tier, and it covers rearrangement of a wedding if the reason for this is covered by an insured event, such as exceptionally heavy snow, flood or natural disaster (although the maximum that they will pay out is 10% of the total sum that has been paid, or has been contracted to be paid). There is also cover for bridal dresses, photography and video, wedding cars, and personal liability which arises from any accidental injuries or losses to any third party during the ceremony or reception. For an additional premium cover can be arranged for public liability cover, marquees and ceremonial swords. At least one of the people being wed must be a permanent UK resident and both must be registered with a UK General Practitioner.
Covermywedding is a trading style of Blue Insurance Limited which was set up in 2003 as a broker specialising in niche insurance products. They distribute these through a network of tour operators, other brokers, and travel agents. The company is 100% owned by the Cover–More Group Ltd which itself is part of the Zurich Insurance Group. Their wedding insurance offering is in four tiers, each with different levels of cover, which includes rings, flowers, cake, photography, wedding dress, cars and transport, wedding gifts and personal liability, which indemnifies the couple getting married against claims against them for injury or damages sustained by a third party during the wedding. Optional extras include extended public liability, marquee insurance, and waiver of the excess which is payable on every claim. Cancellation/rearrangement costs can extend up to 75% of the original wedding cost, with the actual maximum depending upon the insurance tier which has been bought.
Emerald Life Limited was set up in 2010, apparantly as a project to make personal insurance more accessible for the LGBT community and other under-represented groups such as those in non-traditional families. As a result their policies are completely non-discriminatory. They claim to have partnerships with some of the UK's top companies in the underwriting market, namely Aspen Insurance UK Limited (a Bermuda based global insurance and reinsurance group ) and XL Catlin Insurance Company Limited (ultimately part of the AXA XL group) in order, they believe, to ensure a top quality service for their policyholders. The exact cover on offer will vary depending on which provider is chosen but basically Emerald Life set out to cover policyholders again non-recoverable losses if the wedding has to be cancelled because of unexpected illness, death in the family or accidental injuries. There are four levels of cover, offering different maximum payments for risks such as cancellation and rearrangement; rings, flowers and wedding cake; photography and video; cars and transport; personal accident; wedding gifts; legal expenses; and personal liability.
Insure Our Event is a trading style of JSV Events Ltd, who specialise in insuring events of all kinds from major festivals to private parties. They are part of the Romero Group, insurance brokers which have been in business since 1997. They will cover postponement of the event; abandonment of it, owing to bad weather conditions; injury and judicial expenses in the event of a claim; event equipment; and local terrorist disruption. They specifically will not cover for any issues caused by failure of suppliers to meet their obligations, damage to the wedding dress or any other ceremonial dress; or death of any family member or other wedding guest. Optional extras include public liability insurance.
The National Wedding Shows, which have been running for the last 25 years, are claimed to be the biggest shows in Britain for those planning weddings, and there are several of them a year held at major venues such as the Birmingham National Exhibition Centre, London Olympia, and Manchester Central. The wedding insurance package provides cover for public liability, legal expenses, photographs rings and wedding gifts, cakes flowers and transportation, and personal accidents for the bride and groom. There is an option to include cover for wedding equipment, ceremonial swords, and a band or DJ. Cover can be arranged for weddings both in the United Kingdom and overseas.
